The Kansas State Department of Education has been awarded $27 Million for the purpose of significantly impacting literacy growth and development for children from Birth-Grade 12. Kansas is required to host a competitive application process and will be awarding 8 subgrants for approximately $3 Million each over three years to districts and district consortia.

In order to assist districts through the application process, the Kansas State Department of Education is partnering with the Kansas regional library systems to offer a series of FREE on-site work days for potential grant applicants. Districts and district consortia should register teams of 5-8 representatives to attend.

The day will include brief programming intended to offer advice and insights pursuant to vital pieces of the application. The majority of the day will then be structured to provide teams the opportunity to work on completing their planning and application work. Kansas Striving Readers project staff will be on-site to advise and assist teams as needed.

Please register early, as space is limited. Lunch will be off-site, on your own.
Registration limited to 20 teams.
